This place suits me perfectly with great wi-fi, free parking, and a flat-screen TV. The staff assisted with my elderly parents on my first visit, and I truly appreciated their kindness. I highly recommend staying here for a relaxing experience....  

i enjoyed my stay at normanhurst. the location is peaceful, especially for those traveling down from scotland. the building and grounds are beautiful, and i loved having a microwave and mini fridge in my room. also, the staff was super helpful, especially at check-in....

The room was clean and tidy, providing a good start to our visit. The garden view added a pleasant touch, making the surroundings more enjoyable.

The greeting at reception felt quite shallow.

Comfortable double room, inviting breakfast, with a lovely kettle for tea and coffee in the room making for a cozy start to the day.

Charming, Charming, Charming

I absolutely loved my stay! The bedroom was a cozy retreat with a comfortable bed and the warm decor made me feel at home right away. The garden area? So beautifully landscaped, I spent my mornings sipping coffee surrounded by birds...  

Clean and cozy are the two words that stand out from my stay. The room featured modern amenities like a fridge and microwave, while the bedding felt fresh and inviting after a long day.

The overall decor felt a bit tired and dated, squashing any illusion of grandeur. The bathroom only had a ceiling light, and the shower showed signs of neglect with black mildew. More frustratingly, the bar hours limited options for a late-night drink, and broken taps seemed like a minor inconvenience that could have been easily fixed.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating during our stay.

The carpets in the room were dirty and ripped, which was quite disappointing.

We stayed for a night and got to check in early, which was cool. But honestly, the room was a bit grimy. Stains on the walls and the bedding could've used a clean. The parking was handy though, and the staff were nice enough but it felt like they had some issues to deal with. Didn't try the food, so can't say much there.

Decent stay for the price

I booked a last-minute trip and found this place. The building looks cool with old wooden interiors, and the staff were friendly enough. Had a ground-floor room with a small fridge, which was handy! Just wished the walls weren't so thin because I could hear everything outside at night. Restaurants nearby were a plus, especially the Armenian one!

Not recommended for anyone

The large window floods the room with natural light and makes it feel bright. The fancy stained glass window in the foyer was something to see, if only it wasn't at a rundown place like this.

It cost me more than I wanted to pay for such a shabby room.

The Superior Double Room was a mixed bag. The bed was clean, but the TV didn't work. Plus, the shower had a broken seal, so the bathroom flooded. The room itself had nice amenities but just felt off with those issues.
